The Mohonk Preserve Visitors Center is situated on a 25-acre site on NYS Route 44/55 in the town of Gardiner, NY. The project involved the design and construction of a visitors center and offices for preserve staff. A key design consideration was balancing the construction of a manmade structure with site preservation in a sensitive forest preserve landscape. Access, parking for 184 vehicles, drainage, and trail availability were all prime design considerations for this gateway presence to the state’s largest non-profit land preserve.
